Correction

When discussing the assignment by 沈妤芳 this afternoon, I said that the verb “close” is connected by the conjunction “and” to match an earlier verb “visited”. This is obviously incorrect. “Close” should match “get” instead.  Not only is “get” closer to “close”, it also creates no inconsistency in tense. Sorry about the careless mistake.

Midterm Exam

The midterm exam will be held on Thursday, Apr. 22. Since the computer lab 3119 is not large enough to spread out the students, I have arranged two classrooms, 3514 and 3515, for the exam. Please go directly to these rooms at 5:30 to take the exam.

Weekly Assignments

Each student is required to post a “sentence a week” assignment on his/her homepage starting next week. Try to pick the most challenging sentence you encounter in a week and analyze it in finer steps as discussed in class. The deadline is midnight of every Thursday of the week.
